StoryMap Collaboration with San Antonio’s Office of Historic Preservation - Spring 2020

In Spring 2020, nine students in our St. Mary’s University Public History in the Digital Age graduate class partnered with the Office of Historic Preservation’s ScoutSA team.  Four teams of students worked with the ScoutSA team and the City’s database of historic sites, including landmarks and districts, to complete original research that shaped the Story Maps. Using this research, these students created innovative Story Maps for the OHP on an intense 8-week timeline. “The hands-on service learning work mimicked what might be asked of them in potential future roles in the field of digital humanities, as employees of cultural resource management firms or museums.” Read more about this partnership on the ScoutSA blog.
