Description

Arrowhead Trails Bulletin June 25, 1917 Vol 1 No. 7 produced by the Arrowhead Trails Association. The Bulletin announces the opening of A.T.A. Touring Bureaus in the Redlands chamber of commerce at 625 So. Spring Street, Los Angeles, and one opened by A.T.A. Secretary F.V. Owens in Salt Lake City. Bulletin announces that information on the A.T.A. can be found at any of these locations and requested by mail as well. The Bulletin announces that there has been a steady stream of Bureau visitors who are heading northward due to the scenic views along the route from California to Salt Lake City. The Bulletins describes the largest party the Bureaus had seen that week, A.M. Patterson and his son and their families; a party of seven who are taking a leisurely trip east along with Dr. A.C. Marshall and his wife. The Bulletin then announces that the federal aid for Utah highways for the next five years has come out to just over $854,000 and that added with state aid the amount will likely be $1,708,000. There will be five projects to be taken up this year covering 254 miles and appropriators have been made for both concrete and gravel surface roads. The Bulletin announces that the five roads to be worked on this year are: Castle Gate to Duchesne 44 miles, Thompsons to Blanding 132 miles, Ogden to Hooper 10 miles, Beaver to Milford 33 miles, Tremonton to Snowville 45 miles. The Bulletin concludes by detailing the coast investigations of A.W. Henderson, Secretary of the Pikes Peak Ocean to Ocean Highway Association, of Colorado Springs, in which he concluded that contrary to reports, there was an up tick in automobile tourism in the west this season.
