Arrowhead Trails Bulletin June 16, 1917 Vol 1 No.6 produced by the Arrowhead Trails Association. The bulletin announces that the A.T.A. is now part of the American Automobile Association and that possessing membership in A.T.A. means membership in AAA. The bulletin announces that F.V. Owen, Secretary of the A.T.A. has been elected to the directorate of the national body. The Bulletin then announces that work to outfit a 125 mile track of the A.T. is being done in earnest to prepare the road for modern automobile travel. Bulletin goes on to list other construction projects: the work of County Commissioner E.E. Smith on the road northerly from Las Vegas, The opening of a new bridge at St. Thomas, and that Clark County maintains a tow for all vehicles across the Virgin River between Bunkerville and Mesquite. The bulletin also notes the exploits of the painter J.B. Fairbanks who discovered Little Zion Canyon, which he believes is more beautiful than anything in Europe or elsewhere and would attract many tourist from the East if they knew of it. The Bulletin notes that the U.S. Government has designated the spot as "Zion National Park" and that the new state road, reached A.T., is now in ideal condition all the way to Springdale at the border of the park. Bulletin notes the presence of a tourist camp: Wylie Way Camp. Bulletin also notes that work on roads inside the park is on going. The Bulletin concludes by encouraging people to "boost" for the trail by purchasing a $5 membership in A.T.A. or AAA and other highways as they will bring many benefits to the communities they pass through.
