He, too, referred to Mr, Ayres' whole-hearted interest in the work, and compared the amounts received into the treasury from all sections 'with that part which was given by Texas, He spoke of Texas having the direct benefit of this Old Spanish Trail, and called attention that one-third of the OST ran through Texas, Spoke of the work which has been made possible by Mr. Ayres' trip East. h.s showed the advantage of good, roads by comparing with automobile travel in other sections. £, Mr, Ayres then spoke of the handling of funds received, saying that every penny received could be accounted for except that which was collected last year, during his absence, and that every possible means h~d been tried, to get an accurate accounting for that. Mr, Ayres explained that membership quotas were based on population and wealth and told of the little towns out West that had come through with 100% support. S, Mr, Wimer then said, there were some decisions San Antonio had to sake. If they were in favor of the OST, they must, decide whether they would, go on with it or not. If so, he suggested the different organisations give one program to the OST, He then asked the delegates from the different clubs to express their views. 10. Mr, Orr, Auto Trades Assn,, confessed that he had neglected this work and was really ashamed that he had, but was a member. He said the meeting was a revelation to him, Sriu it would be a shame to 1st a sum of $4,000.00 or $5,000,00 be the cause of losing the OST. Suggested. that all get to work and raise this fund. Suggested getting in touch with Hr, Wolfe, of the Chamber of Commerce, and try and. arrange with him as a personal proposition tc supervise and organize this campaign work. 11, Mr, Patton, Real Estate Board, said he had not put money nor time into the work, and that he was sure the organisation was a good thing, and pledged the Real Estate Board for $350,CO; $10,00 each for 55 members, 12a Judge S. D, Henry, Lions Club, said the club would possibly do nothing as a club, but members as individuals would give generously he thought, and that there were members in trie club who could work and raise money in his club.
