The more I become acquainted with the histoical background of the other old cities from Florida to California the more I realize the San Antonio works were by far the most notable and the old history here the most" interesting....yet the story of San Antonio is the least told of all— and the story as told is the most confUsed and inaccurate.

I believe these inaccuracies are chiefly due to the fact the real story here has never been gathered together in compact "textbook" form and writers and publishers do.not know what to write and publish.

The real story is far more interesting than the commonplaces that are so constantly told and re-told. But in considering the whole story a number of individuals are involved and no one individual has, as yet, felt warranted in spending the time and money to get the complete story together.
