Dear Mr. Ayres:- I received your letter several days ago and have given it considerable thought and I shall now attempt to answer it. On March 22nu, the Advisory Board met in our office at which time it was decided you should have a salary of £250 per month with the understanding, o : course, that you should have this salary under the condition you raised the money to pay for it. You.will also remember that at the Gulfport meeting it was decided that Mrs. Riegler and myself were- t-o decide what salary you were to receive, and nothing was done about this until the meeting of the Advisory Board on March 22nu. T .wrote you fully in regard to this and up to date you have ignored" it. It is not customary as a regular thing for the President of any organization to report to the Managing Directory, especially when the Managing Direcnr is out and supposed to make regular reparts to the office as to his movements, and this I shall insist upon. I fully realize the fact that you were, elected without salary as Managing Director, and that the first"!' had any idea that you were placed on a salary was on March 22nd. Your actions sines that time do not justify that you are entitled to this and I shall immediately take steps to notify our Directors and the baric with which you have been doing business that you are no longer connected with this office. In doing this I feel I am backed up by the Advisory Board who have full power to govern the association, as you will remember during October*1320 the Advisory Board had a thoro understanding with you in which they were to be the real governing power. I am working with accord with the Advisory Board and I do not feel that you are working in harmony with me in any way, hence ray actions. In accordance with the resolution passed in March I am attempting to have the books audited s.nd find that there is some little misunderstanding in regard to the account you carry at the Lockwood Hat'1 Bank, which I am satisfied you can explain fully. I will not send out the letters spoken of until I have had time to hear from you w..icli will not be more than five or six day Your ixyi respectfully.
