TRAVELOGS Published and Distributed by Members 100,000 copies of the travelog will be needed to carry thru 1929----this will average 200 for 500 tourist routing offices; some offices call for 1000 copies. There are 1200 routing offices in the United States. The policy of issuing these travelogs in editions of 20,000 is advised; this permits of revisions as information is gathered, 62,300 travelogs have been published heretofore. Travelog Distribution to be as Follows Free to all individuals seeking information. Free to all travel routing offices and chambers of commerce for free distribution---but not to such organizations, or to business men, in communities along the OST that do not pay their quotas for the expenses of the Old Spanish Trail work, or carry membership. Free to OST service members that show good distributing facilities, Service Memberships Explained Service memberships are for garages, restaurants, hotels, local organizations, etc. that give direct service to travelers-—these memberships are $25 per year (class 3 $15); large hotels 20^ per room, $25 minimum (class 3 $15). Privileges of Service Members Service Members primarily ARE COOPERATING TO SPREAD INFORMATION ALL OVER THE UNITED STATES TO BRING TRAVEL TO THE HIGHWAY AND THEIR COMMUNITY. THIS IS WORTH MANY TIMES THE GOST. NO ORGANIZATION EXCEPT ONE LIKE THE OLD SPANISH TRAIL CAN BUILD U? SUCH EXTENSIVE AND EFFECTIVE DISTRIBUTION OF TRAVEL INFORMATION. NEVERTHELESS THERE ARE DIRECT PRIVILEGES ENJOYED BY SERVICE MEMBERS. They may pay $10 additional and be listed in black face type in the travelog provided their service can be recommended. The travelog editors will determine the language that is fair for this black face listing. Where a community assumes and pays its quota the committee, ohamber of commerce or other organization will be consulted respecting the firms to be listed. Service members will receive free the road condition map with the SERVICE MEMBER title; also the shield sign for display, or the right to paint same where desired; also travelogs for distribution. Community Information in Travelog Communities that equitably support the OST financee will be suitably described in the travelog. Space cannot be given to non-supporting communities.
