San Antonie, Texas March 37th, 1933 Mr. H. 5. Ayr38, Battle House, Mobile, Alabama n Dear Your two letters of the 35th received this a.m. I appreciated one of them very much, and the other one I really hate to answer. I note that you are complaining about my not answering your letter with reference to the letterheads, 'out I was in hopes that you would allow this to go over 'until you returned and I could tallc it over with you. Dr. Johnston and I discussed the matter and I thought it -would be all right to handle it as is, and then x wrote you but before I heard from you the Doctor had the letterheads printed and I didn’t feel like there was anything to be discussed in the matter. Really felt that since Dr. Johnston was President of the organization and he had charge cf the San Antonio office during your absence that I was placed in rather sn embarrassing position to take the matter up with the Doctor, and I have been just hoping that you would reconsider the matter and drop it. It doesn't seem to me that it is half as bad as you seem to think it is, and I have certainly been trying mighty hard to do my part in taking care of this -work. My contract with you was for half time but I have given this at least 75 or 80 per cent of my time for five months. Since you have been away it just seemed like I_couldn't find any place where I could get along with lc-ss time than I was giving and keep everything up. You know that you would have a hard time collecting the other 50 per cent from the Valley people unless we did something to show that we had earned this money. I have been arranging this trip with Commissioner Lamber and also arranging the organization from Mathis to Houston and after all this you know yourself I aon't have much tine to do anything elsd. I am leaving tomorrow morning for the Valley as you know and I hope to get those people'* so much in love with the association that they will immediately rais'e the other 50 per cent, tut I know that we are going to have a hard pull in collecting all of it. It is. going to take considerable’time and patience. The Alamo Printing Company has turned over their account to Russell & Woodhull with instructions to get the money or file suit. Percy Tyrnell has -written another letter in which he makes it very plain that he had a one his full share and something is going- to have to be done at once. Dr. Johnstcn^Went to sea him today and talked the matter over -with him but didn't get very much satisfaction. Sc you see what I am up against now. If the Alamo Printing Company file suit, and Tyrrell takes our furniture, oxfice fixtures and everything and throws us out we are done. I hope you fully realize the condition we are in. I don't know anything about your financial arrangments down there, the fact- is it is none of my business any gore than you know that I am very much interested in the welfare of the OST. Put if we can't make a go of it why not quit before we get whe association any deeper in debt. I have been wanting to steo
