Junction, Texas, May 14th, 1929. Mr. Earral Ayres, Managing DiMotor, Old Spanish Trail Association, San Antonio, Texas. Dear Mr. Ayres: I have ;}ust seen the mimeographed statement issued by Messrs. Julius Dupont and V7. B. Gill of Louisiana, dated April 29th, 1929, which states there is much criticism of the old Spjmish Tz^l^ssociation and its director and that practically all towns^ havtrno faith whatever in the value of the association to the highway. I wish to state 'Jest Texas towns are loyally interested in the Old Spanish Trail and are supporting its work. Also that vie never even have thought of withdrawing from the association. The statement specifically says "Junction, Texas, has withdrawn." My residence and business <&&in Junction. Wo have always paid our quotas and have never had any other thought. The plans cf the West Texas Hill Country Organization as being .formulated all contemplate full cooperation with the Old Spanish Trail Association. The statement of Messrs. Dupont and Gill is wholly without foundation. Yours very truly. Emil A. Loeffler CHAIRMAN, OLD 3BMIISH TRAIL HILL DIVISION
