Mrs. J, 'I.Smith, 114 Gunter Hotel, Sa: Ant oni 0 , Texas , Dea^r Hadam: In reply to your inquiry a s to v/hether or not v;e have any laws in this State governing billboards or indiscriminate advertising along public roads, I heg to advise that section 67 of our Road Lav/ provides as follows: "Any person who in any manner paints . affixes any advertisement, sign, notice or other written or printed matter, other than notices posted in pursuance of law, on or to any stone, tree, fence, stump, pole, “building or other structure which is in or upon the right of way of any public road or highway, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished with a fine of not less than five dollars, nor more than one hundred dollars.
