Spanish Decoration Will Be Awarded Harral B. Ayres.
The builidng up of the Old Spanish trail, so laboriously established by the Spaniards through mud. cattle ranches and deserts, which now is one of the mo6t noted highways of the United States, today is history, and has received much publicity.
But the modern conquistador who opened the trail when there was no traveled route, and who has given 30 years of his time to developing it, for the first time will receive recognition of his efforts Tuesday evening.

At that time, at tiro home of Mrs. Henry Drought, Harral IJ. Ayres, managing director of the Old Spanish trail, will he presented with tin: jto.val Order of Isabel la t'atolica, the highest order of the' Spanish crown, by Pablo de I'barri, Spanish consul at Galveston, in the name of the king of Spain. Harral also will he given 'the title of Knight Commander.
The jewel of the order is a double-sided Spanish sunburst two inches in diameter, suspended from a laurel wreath. On one side Hie name of the order, on the other aide is ■“La Leal-tad Acrisolada,” expressive of loyally and merit.
RECEPTION FOLLOWS.
Taking part in the ceremony will be Scnor Ubarri, Mrs. Henry Drought, Senor Enrique Santibanoz. consul general of Mexico; Gen. William Lassiter and staff members, Col. H, M. Dichmann, president of.the Sun Antonio Automobile league; Werner N. Beckmann, Dr. F. J. Cnmfco. T. II. Etheridge, president of tho local real estate board ; Mayor C. M. Chambers, Arnold Shanklin, former United States consul general to Mexico City; Senator W. A. Williamson and Judge Perry S. Robertson.
A reception will follow the ceremonial at Mrs. Drought’s borne. Many men and women who have taken an active part in the work of the association have been invited to attend the reception and conferring of the decoration.
