\ \ . (Copy of letter filed with Old Spanish Trail Association ■branding as false the statements in the Dupont-Gill circular letter of April 29th, 1929 to the effect that West Te cas was not cooperating with the Old Spanish Trail Association. ) Junction, Texas, May 14th, 1929. Mr. Harral ayres. Managing Direet or, Old Spanish Trail Association, San Antonio, Texas. Dear Mr. Ayres: I have just seen the mimeographed statement issued by Messrs. Julius Dupont and W. B. Gill of Louisiana, date April 29th, 1929, which states there is much criticism of the Old Spanish Trail Association and its director end that practically all towns in West Texas hare no faith whatever in the value of the association to the highway. I wish to state West Texas towns are loyally interested in the Old Spanish Trail and are supporting its work. Also that we never even have thought of withdrawing from the association. The statement specifically says "Junction, Texas, has withdrawn." My resident and business are in Junction. Y/o have always paid our quotas and have never had any other thought. The plans of the West Texas Hill Country organization as being formulated all contemplate full cooperation with the Old Spanish’ Trail Association. The statement of Messrs. Dupont and Gill is wholly without foundation. Yours very truly. (Signed) Emil a. Loeffler, CHAIRMAN, (OLD SPANISH TRAIL HILL DIVISION
