Others of . this delegation spoke and the good wishes of the convention were extended to them. Certain proposed amendments to the constitution were submitted. J. 71. Apparson, Biloxi, Mississippi, urged that a Mississippi Division be created. M. G. Hoffman, Pensacola, Florida, stated that the Fast and West Coasts of Florida should not be in one division on account of the rivalry between the two coasts. F. B. Johnston, San Antonio, Texas, made a motion that a committee of one delegate each from Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana meet with the Managing Director and report as to the ad-visibilitv of creating a Mississippi Division, and also respecting the Florida Divisions. The motion was seconded but during the discussion many amendments to the motion wore offered. 7/ith permission of the second, Mr. Johnston then withdrew the motion-, ith the understanding that the matter would be taken up later after action on the amendments. It was moved, seconded and carried that the constitution be • .amended as proposed and after brief debate- the following amendments Y/era unanimously adopted: ‘ AMENDMENTS. Amend Article II of the Constitution to read as follows: ARTICLE II. OFFICIALS, DIVISIONS AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS. The officers and directors of this Association shall be a President, a Vies President.for each division, a Secretary, a Treasure?.' (the Secretary and Treasurer may be combined), a Field Engineer and other officers and directors as the Association shall elect. These officers and directors, not exceeding twenty-five in number, shall constitute the Board of Directors. The Trail shall be divided into as many divisions, with one Vice President to each division, as the Board of Directors or the Association shall deem tStioe. The officers and directors residing within a division shall constitute a Divisional Council under the leadership of the Vice President for matters arising within the division during the interim between meetings of. the Board of Directors or of the Association. LOCAL OFFICIALS. Councilors may be appointed in localities, along the trail to act as the local representatives of the Association in all matters
