It is suggested that each night stop city give a mimeograph description of the country for the day's journey ahead.
The motorcade does not want to drive without stopping where citizens desire but the schedule is long and hard. We will cooperate all we can. We are finding everyone thoughtful and helpful.
Perries and toll bridges are being looked after by local friends. There are no advices respecting2toll bridges. I hope the party will not be stopped for tolls anywhere.
The headquarters hotels are shown on this schedule. Special rates have been generously offered by all hotels and these rates are supplied to all members of the party.
Flood conditions upset us for one week. Now letters are coming showing the interest of the people. The Californians were a wonderful inspiration. We advised them of the conditions and they wired they would start as scheduled and play the game to the limit. V/ith their gallant leadership and the cooperation of our people everywhere we will go through and will build up a fraternity that will be nice for everyone and valuable to the Old Spanish Trail. Telegraphic advices assure us the highway is now open through to St. Augustine. Our construction is so substantial the damage could not be prolonged.
