MINUTES 07 MEETING 07 TIE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OP THE OLD 3PM ISH T RAIL AT LUNCHEON, HELD IK ROOM 112, GUNTER HOTEL, SAN -ANTONIO, TEXAS’ MONDAY OCTOBER 2Sth, at 12:15 O’CLOCK. 1. Mr. Wimer presided. 2. An invitation was sent to all San Antonio members and contributors to be with the Board at this luncheon. Board members present were Messrs. Kenneth V/imer, Percy Tyrrell, Leon N. Walthall and Harral B. Ayres; Henry T. Mathews having resigned. Others present were Mrs. Eva T. Brough, Messrs. Joe E. Carroll; Sr., A. a. Clarke; W. E. Beckmann; N. S. Dickinson and Frank E. Beatty. 3. The minutes of previous meeting were not read. 4. No Disbursement Sheet was submitted. 5. The meeting was devoted entirely to a discussion of the general good, all present entering into the discussion with great interest. The financial statement as attached hereto was submitted. Numerous letters from magazines, libraries, schools, etc., etc., were shown as evidence of the wide-spread interest. The new map made by the National Highways Assn., the booklet of the Automobile Club of Southern California, and other documents were also in evidence. 6. Mr. Dickinson and Mr. Carroll spoke of the big interest they felt, and had seen in their travels. Mr. Tyrrell and Mr. Y/iner told of the tourist values they had found in trips to Kerrville and Junction. 7. Mr, Dickinson moved that another luncheon be held at which the presidents and a committee from San ^ntonio civic clubs be invited to be present and an effort be made to not only align civic organ- ■ izations behind the work but that these organizations seek a joint meeting with similar representatives from the civic organizations of Houston and El Paso. This joint meeting to be held at such time and place as Houston and El Paso would agree, ard that through these methods the civic organizations and the people of South Texas be made acquainted with the necessity for the free development of this work. 8 8. Meeting adjourned to meet at luncheon in keeping with Mr. Dickinson's suggestion, Thursday, November 1, Pink Room, Gunter Hotel.
