On the eve of rebuilding the line of highway through Vermilion Parish,known as State Highway Project #25,we write you for a little information relative to the Glcl Spanish Trail proposition, with which, we have been told, you are familiar and are interested in.
Project #25 is to extend the highway from New Iberia through Del csaabre,Brath, Abbeville,Kaplan and Gueydan to Lake Artur, This highway covers, we are told, the original "Old Spanish Trail". Natives here state that tno Southern Pacific Railroad was to follow a line of the "Old Spanish Trail" and originally laid out to pass along the route as above named, but due to financial influence was thrown further North through Lafayette.Rayne and Crowley,and does not follow the old original Spanish Trail.
I will certainly appreciate any information that you may be able to give me,and trust that you will straighten me out, so that in my contemplated manner of advertising I will make no mistake and mislead no one.
If we are entitled to the phrase, we surely propose to use it.
