I did not note anything wrong with the other,but am sending you,this and you can keep it. put in little write--ups,to keep before the public the fact that the Convention will be here-May 18th and 19th* their advertisement put on the backs of the two hundred envelopes that go to Florida points. Have sent invitations to all Boards of County Commissioners, newspapers and chambers of commerce* also,to such motor clubs as I can get address of, and will send some more letters to Hew urleans. or,rather, it was sent with "Compliments of miss Moses, •“‘ssistant Secretary. I v/ill send invitations to a bunch of the mgnbers- to send in check for $2.00,registration fee for the Convention. Hope the checks will begin to flow in, so on. 1 will bank in a separate account and check out with you when you come. I v/ill keep accurate account of all transactions,so let your mind rest easy. I have been careful to keep things smooth,at this end of the line ,so far as possible, but, as Mayor -^owry probably t old you, I have fought to win,and am doing so. Mr. W.C.lewis,Vice-president of the Lewis State ^ankjhere, has supported me throughout this matter,and gave $150.00 towards the western trip,and stands ready to put up more,to cover the Miami trip,etc. The Misni car will start about the 8th or 9th,reaching Miami about the 13th,or sooner. The invitations are out, so we will hope they will send some cars back with the party,to the Convention. Mr. Helms has been he re,but was busy with the legislators and did not get to see him. Sxippose he will be here on the 18th. 1 wish ^resident Fillans would send a letter to Senator Bankhead,urging him to make the main speech the night of the 18th. The Bill for the toll bridge is up,now; to give the counties the right to purchase at end of five years,the county commissioners to regulate price of toll and keep the bridge open to traffic at all hours of day and night.
