It was agreed those present should have opportunity to consult 1'ully with the home folks before selection of any of the officers and directors. The following, therefore, were designated to report the nominations to the managing director at San Antonio as soon as they could satisfactorily confer and nominate.
California. Nomination referred to the San Diego Chamber of Commerce and allied organizations.
Arizona. San Diego Chamber of Commerce and allied organizations agreed to confer with Arizona people and have the nominations sent in.
New Mexico. San Diego organizations to confer and report.
West Texas. Mr. Ayres agreed to refer this to the West Texas group.
East Texas. Referred to T. H. Nees the delegate present from Beaumont, Texas.
Louisiana. Referred to the Louisiana delegation present with Messrs. Campbell and Clark assuming the active leadership.
Mississippi. Tne Louisiana delegation pledged themselves to confer with the Mississippi folks and see that an active leader be nominated.
Alabama. Aeferred to David Holt the delegate present from Mobile and Harral Ayres.
Florida. Mayor Hartay Bayliss of Hensacola designated to make the selection and report.
The understanding reached v/as that upon the selection of these Vice-Presidents and tne reports from the people through this procedure a call should be issued for a meeting and the budget adopted, as this Board of Directors should decide.
Several resolutions were adopted amid applause and standing votes. One, to Mayor Clark, the Chamber of Commerce,
San Diego-California Club, the Automoble Club of Southern California, and the others in San Diego who had made the visit here so delightful. Two, to "Dad"\Verniclce for his leadership of the motorcade across tne continent and the good results triat had attended his work. Three, to Harral Ayres as an expression of recop;nition and appreciation for his long years of service to the Old Spanish Trail.
