The date you mention in your letter or June 37th-on page 48 of my translation of Teran's Diary, should, of course, he March 34. This was simply a typographical slip. As to the Savinas most students here wish to translate the word cypress rather than cedar. I retained the Spanish word , pending more adequate information.
F. S. I am sure in the good old days grapes were found on all the streams in the vicinity oi San Antonio, particularly what v/e call " .Vinter Grapes 11. Do you know them. They grow on dry rocky places and under almost any condition, VndQ_was probably named ior a person. The name occurs frequently in the Spanish and Mexican Archives. I have considerable information concerning Cibola but nothing very definite. The site has been tentatively decided upon cv some of the people of Kernes Co. There is* however, considerable dispute , as yet, M. A. H.
