J. E. Clayton, secretary of the Hotnna-Terrebonne Association of Commerce, has been advised that the State Highway Commission is now at work surveying the Bayou E'Ours road. This gives the assurance that the road between here and Morgan City will be completed by that body as early as possible. While situated in an adjoining parish, the Association of Commerce here was the pioneer in endeavoring to secure state aid for this road, which is situated in Assumption Parish. The completion of this link of the Old Spanish Trail will mean much to Houma and this section of the slate, as it has been receiving considerable publicity due to its impassible condition in wet weather that not beeu favorable to this section of the state. The route - from Houma west through Bayou L’Ours section is the natural winter route for ists through this section, but the undesirable publicity regarding the poor condition of this stretch of road has caused tourists in many instances to seek other roads. The Association of Commerce headquarters, howevar, reports cars both going and coining from the west in large numbers each HOUMA, LA., SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 1922.
