Capable of herculean exertions as a runner and mountain-climber, he did not know what the words fatigue or fear meant. Cunning, he never exposed himself to danger if it could be helped. Brave, he fought to the death when cornered. Cruel, his record is one of such ghastly crime that history shudders at the bare recital.
