NUMBER AND DISTRIBUTION 0 Minor civil divisions.—The primary divisions of the counties of Arizona arc election precincts, justice precincts, or school districts. These precincts or districts include the secondary divisions, which arc known as cities and towns. Table 4 shows the population of each county by precincts or districts, cities, and towns for the last two censuses. The population of the cities and towns is shown in italics under the population of the precincts or districts in which they arc respectively situated. Where an incorporated place occupies two or more precincts or parts of precincts, the total population of the place is given in connection with the presentation for the first precinct. The population of Yuma, which includes five entire precincts, is shown in Roman type, followed by the precinct population in italic type. Mesa and Tempo towns arc similarly presented. Changes in the boundaries of precincts or districts and incorporated places between 1920 and 1930 arc indicated by footnotes on Table 4.
