San Antonio, Texas March 12th, 1S23 Mr. H. 3. Ayres Battle House, Mob il e, A1 abasia Dear Mr. Ayres: - I enclose letter, also carbon copy of one I have written tc the Panama Hotel. The chances are if this man is doing this kind of work for you you had better get in behind him pretty soon. There is very little going on here in the office. Colp has been sick in bed for the last week. We are sending out your history booklets by Express this morning. Suppose you are still peeved with me as I have had nothing since my last letter. I am also trying to get the matter of which you wrote, regarding a salary adjusted in some manner, and I will possMy see you over there in the next two weeks as I want to meet a friend of mine the latter part of this month in New Orleans. I think the work you have been doing over there will bear fruit, and I see no reason why you should not go ahead as you wrote me, and if it is necessary to establish an office in Mobile or else','/here temporarily, go ahead and do as you think best. Of course we have got to raise some money pretty soon here for Tyrrell, but I suppose as he has waited this long he’ won’t mind waiting for awhile longer. He has gone down in the Valley for a week so he won’t bother us for that long anyway. With best wishes, I am. Yours friend. FBJ:AH
