-2- usually called Spanish Lake, the correct name of which is -^ake Tasse, the word 'tasse' being the french for ’cup'. It is a very pretty- little body of water, about a mile in diameter. There is standing now on this Lake, about three miles from New Iberia, & two story house, the lower story of which is of brick and the upper story of frame in the Old Spanish style, which is said to have been the residence of the Spanish Commandante.
