GCO J.SULLIVAN N C.STALLWORTH SULLIVAN &. STALLWORTH ATTORNEYS AND COUNSELLORS AT LAW MOBILE, ALABAMA Mr. II. B. Ayres, Hotel Wellington, Washington, D. C. June 24, 1922, Dear Ayres: Senator Craft showed me your letter of 19th., - congratulations, I feel sure you are enjoying your visit to Washington as much as the weather permits® At the first opportunity, I shall thank you to inquire as to the status of Federal approval of the proposed Alabama link of the Mississippi Valley Highway, that is, the route from Mobile via Toulminville, Oak Grove, Citronelle and State Lino to Meridian, Mississippi, Of course, I am not asking you to do anything about it, except to find out what you can conveniently -aas- and to write me. At Citronelle on Wednesday night Senators Rogers and Craft told the Citronelle people that they thought their might safely promise that the State Highway Commission would build the twenty-two mile link across the southwest corner of Washington County some time next year. The opening of even a passable way across these few miles seems to be hopeless unless through Federal aid. With regards a,nd best wishes, Dot
