SAN ANT01 Bus Trips to Monterrey Started Here Above is shown a group which last week made a pre-schedule bus trip from San Antonio to Monterrey. They were guests of the Greyhound Bus Company which is conducting weekly tours under the auspices of the San Antonio Automobile League, affiliated local organization of the American Automobile Association. So that plans and prices, routes and entertainment for the weekly tours could he arranged In a practical way, these representatives of the San Antonio Automobile League, Old Spanish Trail, the press and the Laredo Chamber of Commerce made the trip to Monterrey. Those making the trip were: Col. and Mrs. H. M. Dichmann of the San Antonio Automobile League: G. P. Schmal, secretary-treasurer of the Southland Greyhound Bus Company; Harral B. Ayres, president Old Spanish Trail Association; Frank Tibbetts, assistant travel manager, Southland Greyhound Company; Miss Virginia Edgecombe, manager touring bureau, San Antonio Automobile League; Earl Post, Porfirio Trevinio, Mexicon-American Automobile Association; Robert M. Stack, Southwest Motor Club; James Hoskins, Southland Greyhound Bus Company; H. A.. Mc-Associatiori; Miss Ruby Liles and Mrs. Margaret Burnett...Secretary Chamber of Commerce,- joined the party at Laredo. • Tho Chamber of Commerce of Monterrey and the Automobile Club had entertainment arranged which gave the visitors a splendid idea of the City of Monterrey and the picturesque couniry surrounding the city. The delegation was entertained at Laredo by a Chamber of Com- merce committee headed by President E. H. Corrigan and Secretary Charles Mumm. According to Stack this trip will promote greatly increased interest in this section of tho Southwest and will stimulate travel. The facilities for publicity through the travel bureaus of the A. A. A. Affiliated Clubs will acquaint tho traveling public with tho true conditions on the border and in Mex- ico of scenic attractions and that want can be satisfied on the Tex-as-Mexican border. San Antonio should he the center of travel for tho entire Southwest, according to President Dichmann of the Automobile League and an effort is being made to provide information on all varieties of travel, including air travel at the now headquarters of the A. A. A. Travel Bureau in the Gunter Hotel Arcade.
