’.( ! \ Under these Acts the Old Spanish Trail will be liberally dealt with. One of the first undertakings will be the construction of a bridge over the Apalachicola River at River Junction. Several unimproved sections of the Old Spanish Trail will also; be taken up during the ensuing year. As the Federal Aid will be used on these projects, work of a substantial and permanent character is assured - work which will coordinate with future improvement, should the Federal Government see fit to establish the great military highway which is being so generally discussed. In closing, I would say that to your and like organizations is largely due the credit of having influenced popular sentiment to such an extent that these things have become possible in this State. The supporters of the Old Spanish Trail are to be congratulated upon having done a great work for the defense of our country and the promotion of enlightenment and material prosperity. I thank you. 6
