I have your letter of the 7th. 7he statement made by me is as enclosed. I made the same statonBnt before the meeting,at St. august' ine. There seems to be no remedy but to close the office. The finaneiel drag on raa is constant. I have hoped for the decision for a national, convention but this is only possible provided some oity seriously gets behind it. I cannot commit myself to that time and exponse. The peonlr. from a distance will not cone unless tho convention details are handled very astutely.
