This nad an altar jilt, ancient, ana in various pieces (possibly tile one brought here by I'enendez) Romans in his history printed before the Revolution says he saw a house v/ith the date 1571 upon it. We have records that a church and house were built about that time, before 1574,the stone would have been put in later using the beams. and wood work.Drake attacked and burned the City in 1586 ana this nouse Romans saw went througn trial/attack and all the other fires in the city.Stone was used for building between 1595-1598 for a powder house .
