MINUTES OT MEETING OP THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OP THE OLD SPANISH TRAIL, HELD IN THE OFFICE O1'1 THE OLD SPANISH TRAIL, GUNTER HOTEL, SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS, FEBRUARY 27, 1923, «t 3:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order by the Chairman. The following were present: Kenneth Y/imer, H. T. Matthews, Charles N. Wuest and Dr. Fred B. Johnston. In the absence of Mr. Walthall,• Mr. Matthews acted as secretary. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Mr. R. J. Newton appeared before the Executive Committee to present in person his auplication for position with the Old Spanish Trail as publicity man, lining up San Antonio and other cities for membership and such other duties as the position may entail. Mr. Newton was offered the uosi'tion at o75.00 per week provided he could bring in enough membershins from San Antonio to warrant the payment of this salary, he to take his chances with the Association, it being understood that there would be no obligation on the part of the Executive Committee and the Old Snanish Trail to retain the services of Mr. Newton at said salary if he is not able to solicit enough paid memberships to warrant such an outlay. The disbursement sheet (Ho. 7) was not approved, same being held in abeyance until next meeting or until the Old Spanish Trail account in the Calcasieu National Bank at Lake Charles, La., has been straightened out. Discussion of the exnense accounts of Mr. Thompson was postnoned until the Lake Charles bank account has been straightened out. There being no further business for discussion, the meeting adjourned.
