Plenty of money has come in to have paid these aocts. §60 was resently paid on rent; the only other rent payment was the §250 sent by me. There are additional obligations for unfulfilled service, for which the above moneys were collected. Apparently it will require v1900 to §1500 to fulfill reasonably well the obligations established. Shreve was given 75/5 of collectins ai d the OST car. Colp 3tates he was to mark the highway, where unmarked., and to pay half tho cost of publishing the section maps. He has been, apparently, overpaid his commissions and is in default on publishing the section maps, and the marking done by him is a reproach. He was not bonded, and none of the regulations for checking the collections of solicitors were applied to him. He was allowed, without question, to collect his commissions by converting OST cheoks and cash to his acct. At least |715 00 appears of collections converted and withheld, and even under this amazing eontradt he appears to have overdrawn. He was recalledm reached San Antonio Monday, but no effort is evident to get him to coa to see me.
