Cori-y of Quincy as a member of the State Highway Department and the correspondence relating to it between Governor Hardee and the appointee. We of Quincy and Gadsden county know Mr. Corry well and have known him well for many years. He ■stands among the foremost of our citizens in every cause for community betterment and as a tobacco grower and packer he has built up a great business here that has spelled success through all the years of his management. There is no such word as failure in his vocabulary and through all the mutations of the tobacco industry he has held steadily on his way, undiscouraged by adverse conditions, and by sheer force of a strong individuality,- intimate acquaintance with his business, decision of character and sound judgment he stands today one of the successful tobacco growers and packers of Florida and one of the strong men of the state in his robust, well-rounded character equal to every call upon him. He is and has been since the beginning of the good roads movement in this state a conspicuous and efficient booster in that great cause and it is eminently fitting that such a man, so highly successful in his private business and so enthusiastic in promoting the work of constructing good roads all over Florida, .should have been selected for membership in the Highway Department. We heartily congratulate Governor Hardee on this admirable appointment; we congratulate Mr. I Corry on the deserved recognition of I his strong and special fitness for a [ vitally important work in the de-1 velopment of Florida, and we con-1 gratulatc the people of tho state on I securing the services of this big, I capable, loyal Floridian In tho cause | of modern highway construction.
