M.—The Governor, the Highway Commissioners, the State and Federal Engineers and their parties, wil! start from the Gunter Hotel, under escort of ladies of the City Federation of Women’s Clubs. 2:15 P. hi.—The foregoing party leave San Pedro Springs, an ancient station on the Camino Real, and go down Flores Street to Military Plaza. This will signify the arrival of the State and Federal officials over the ancient Camino Real, to the Zero Point. 2:30 P. M.—The Governor’s party having reached the official stand, the old stage coach and freight outfits will arrive along West Commerce Street, the ancient trail of the West. The old freighters will bring three outfits: the stage coach from San Diego, a freight train from Mexico, and a pack mule train from the mines. The Wagon Master will report his safe delivery of his charges. Then from the San Diego coach, a messenger from California will deliver letters from the Governor of California, the Mayor of San Diego, the Chamber of Commerce of San Diego, to the Governor, the Mayor, and the Chamber of Commerce at San Antonio. Beretta, President of the City Federation, will present Mile Stone to Old Spanish Trail, City of San Antonio, and County of Bexar. Rollins Wofford, American Flag. Mr. H. B. Ayres will accept on behalf of the Old Spanish Trail. Mayor Tobin will accept on behalf of City of San Antonio. Benediction—Bishop Drossaerts. This handsome five-ton boulder, the gift of Prof. N. J. Badu, of Badu Park, Llano, through the Cassady Grey Granite Co., of Llano, was donated to the S. A. Federation of Women’s Clubs. As a courtesy to that organization it was transported from Llano to its present site, and placed by the Charles Lucas Monument Works, of San Antonio, assisted by Mr. Ray Lambert, Park Commissioner, and Mr. Paul Steffler, Street Commissioner, and Mr. Fritz Oehler of the Charles Lucas Company. WALTHALL, Treasurer PERCY TYRRELL, Secretary Three zero milestones planned—St. Augustine, the beginning of the Old Spanish Trail; San Antonio, the center, dedicated March 27, 1924; San Diego, the terminus of the Highway, dedicated November 17, 1923. This dedication is in conjunction with the convention of the Fifth District Federation of Clubs of Texas, the convention of the Pioneer Freighters Association, and the South Texas Road Conference, with the City Federation of Clubs directing the ceremonies and the Chamber of Commerce, the civic clubs, the Girl and Boy Scouts and other organizations cooperating. Participating in the ceremonies are Governor Pat M Neff the Texas Highway Commissioners, the State and lederal Engineers, the Mayor and City Commissioners, and the County Judge and County Commissioners. Since the first Spanish settlement San Antonio has been the Crossroads of the Continent, the travel center between Mexico and the United States, and between the East and the West.
