Mr. Stewart A . LaBlanc Secretary, Old Spanish 'frail Associ tion. Mobile, Ala. DICTAT,Eti 5Hj/wOP. .-.to Bear Sir; With reference to Bulletin of June 28th,1917, I am very glad to know that the project of making the old Spanish frail a national Military Highway was favorably considered by the Department of Agriculture and by the various state highway commissioners, it occurs to me that the agitation suggested by the conference was certainly very much in place and in my opinion can not be beat. I am very sorry that there was no one from our section to report the condition of the road from Flomaton to Crestview which is a part of the Agricultural or northern Route. It was entirely a " slip" on our part at not being there, for we fully intended to go through in cars but things interfered with us to the extent that we forgot until the day before the convention was held. I notice that no report was made on the Northern Route of the frail from crestview to Mobile via Flomaton and Chumuckla Springs. For your information, on your wekkly bulletins, we will say that the road to Flomaton from crestview is in very good condition. This road as you know was built by private subscription, not one penpy of the county’s money went in to it. fhru the northern end of our county, Santa Rosa, the.e has been $10,000 spent on this highway which is very nearly complete, with the exception of one bridge. As soon as the rains started this road w&§ in excellent shape. From Crestview to Baker, there is a bridge across Yellow River that has not been finished, making it necessary to go via Milligan; from Baker to Munson, good road, from Munson to Chumucliala Springs good, and from Chumuckla Springs to Flomaton good. I hope that you will see that this information is used. 4 Very truly, STEARNS LUMBER 6, EXPORT CO. PENSACOLA. FLA. FREIGHT AND EXPRESS STATION MILTON, FLA.
