Director Flebc??.*r (3an Di ego, Cali^°rnia), writes:* "With a p aved highway over one-half the distance from San Diego to Yuma- lcitf miles in length - the State Highway Commission of California are proceeding, energetically, in xxxx completing the rest of the paving* The bonds for the entire work have already been voted and $250,000 will be spent immediately. An arrangement has just been made whereby the state Highway Commission puts up a portion of the money and the four cities - Oceanside, East San Diego, Da Mesa and El Cajon- the rest. This m eans an additional eleveh miles of paved highway completed at an early date. Within two years from date we should have a concrete highway completed the entire distance San Diego to Yuma® A paved highway, with a few exceptions, is already completed along the coast from San Dieg0 San Francisco via Los Angeles."
Convention at Tallahassee1 is drawing near and we sincerely hope that attendance will not only be large but from an exten ded area along "Th- Old Spanish Trail" as there is no doubt but that Conventions h^lpnatorially to keep interest in work aroused as well as arousing desire to emulate other localities.
