MINUTF3 0? MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE OF® SPAN ISH TRAIL AT LUNCHEON, HELD IN HOOI.I 112, QUITTER HOTEL, SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS’ MONDAY OCTOBER 29th, at 12:15 O'CLOCK. 1. Mr. Ytimsr presided, 2. An invitation was sent to all San Antonio members and contributors Vo be with the Board at this lunoheonp Board members present were Messrs. Kenneth V/imer, Percy Tyrrell, Lean. N« Walthall and Harral S. Ayres; Henry T. Mathews having resided. Others present were Mrs.'Eva T. Brough, Messrs. Joe E. Carroll; Sr., A. a.. C; If rite; W. E. Beoknann; N. S, Dickinson and Frank E. Beatty. 3. The minutes ox previous meeting were not read. 4. Eo Disbursement Sheet was submitted. 5. The meeting was devoted entirely to a discussion of the general good, all present entering into tbs discussion with great interest. The financial statement as attached hereto was submitted. Numerous letters from magazines, libraries, schools, etc., etc., were shown as evidence of the wide-spread interest. The new map made by the National Highways Assn., the booklet of the Automobile Club of Southern California, and other documents were also in evidence. 5. Mr. Dickinson and Mr. Carroll spoke of the big interest they felt, and haa seen in their travels. Mr. Tyrrell and Mr. Wiaer told of the tourist values they had found in trips to Kerryills and Junction. 7. Mr. Dickinson moved that another luncheon be held at which the presidents and a committee from San A-ntonio civic clubs be invited to be present and an effort be made to not only align civic organizations behind the work but that these organizations seek a joint meeting with similar representatives from the civic organizations of Houston and El Paso. This joint meeting to be held at such time and place cs Houston and El Paso would agree, uni that through these methods the civic organizations end the people of South Texas be made acquainted with the necessity for the free development of this work. 8.
