Phone 511 ORLEANS MOTOR COMPANY THE BUSY "BEAUTY SPOT" A Real Service Station Pearl & Wall Street BEAUMONT, TEXAS • September 7, 1922. Ur. Harold b« Ayres, Managing Director, Old Spanish Trail Association, San Antonio, Texas. Dear Sir: I am enclosing, herewith, letter and membership card and other data regarding the Lone Star Route Association, which is self-explanatory. I would be glad to have you advise me if you know anything about this movement, as I do not wish to become affiliated with any proposition that will affect the Old Spanish Trail Association. You will note what he has to say with reference to the Old Spanish Trail from Lake Charles to Houston, and I presume that if they attempt to regard that portion of the Old Spanish Trail as the Lone Star Route, we will have to takesame stand against them as we did the ilississippi^'^cenic Highway. Of course, if they intend to come into Lake Charles over their highway, and then over the Old Spanish Trail to Houston, it seems to me that we would be glad to welcome them, and do all in our power to help them promote the highway in question. In other words, I am for their highway so long as it does not interfere or conflict with the Old Spanish Trail, After you have read the enclosed if kindly ask that you return same to me. // Very truly yours.
