Mrs. A. G. Reed, President Louisiana Federation of Clubs, led in in the discussion of the subject of legislation and presented this subject in a splendid manner. ...rs. Myrick suggested that if the Parliament would hold a conference with the advertising association, in regard to the roadside bill boards that she felt that this association would cooperate with the Old Spanish Trail and highways in this work of beautifying highways. Mrs. Storm reported the receipt of an interesting letter from the leader of a bible class in De Ridder, La. hauringx stating that the Bible class had planted 800 trees, along the highway. Mrs. Storm commented on this splendid piece of work. Mr. K. J. Keale, secretary of the State Parks Association of Louisiana told of the planting plan and told the representativasnf of the different states the kind of trees and flowers that should be planted. In Louisians, the trees to be planted along the highway were the Oak, the Maple and the Aim and advised the planting of trees near the property line, as the roadbeds would be broadened and the trees should be planted so that the improvement to the road bed would not harm the trees. Mrs. Storm stated that the Old Spanish Trail must have some plan and spoke of the beautiful Lincoln Highway. Mrs. - J. G. Skinner, president of the 9th .Yard Civic League, in behalf of the Civic Department, of the few Orleans Federation of Clubs sjssk presented a beautiful basket of flowers to Mrs. Storm adding a few beautiful remarks. Mrs. Storm, responded most graciously. Miss Florence Ruberwald led in the singing cf “The long, long trail" after which the Parliament adjourned for lunch in the Gold Room of the Grunewald Hotel with the compliments of the New Orleans Federation of Clubs, where Mrs- P. J. Friedrichs, president acted as toastmistress
