Jacksonville, Florida, July 25, 1922. Mr. Harold B. Ayres, Battle House, Mobile, Ala. Bear Mr. Ayers:— \Ie have been watching with a great deal of interest, the newspaper accounts of your activities in Washington, relative to government recognition of the Old Spanish Trail, and wish to take this opportunity of congratulating you upon the good work already accomplished. The Jacksonville Journal, formerly the Metropolis, recently carried the same story that you furnished us for release, gathered no doubt by their Washington correspondent. Me furnished this same copy to the Wiraes-Union, with the result that they ran in today's paper, an editorial commenting upon the same write-up in the Balias News. We are enclosing clipping. So many matters of both local, state and national interest has come before the attention of the local Motor Club, that they have not been able to take any definite action upon your suggestion for the Old Spanish Trail. However, they have expressed individually and collectively, a uesire to co-operate in every way possible with you in the furtherance of this work. Would certainly like to hear from you, and to know in what way we can be of assistance. Wishing you success, I am, yours very truly, R. 0. Riddle, Secretary, ROR:g Tourist & Convention Bivision.
