I an sorry that I have been so dilatory with ny correspondence out I have been out of the city almost constantly since our last letters were e:.changed. The' invitatj. to the convention was received and we thank the a::.- ociation heartily but we will be unable to send a delegate this year. If the convention comes further west newt year we will be sure and have representation.
I will be very glad to serve as assistant secretary of "She Old Spanish Trail" in the west. I do not suppse there is any one along the route more thoiiroughly in touch with this road than I tn and 1 will be glfd to do all that I can to push t>j.e good work along. ^Reports on the road in west femes have been better the last few weeks than before,
I am glad to be able to cay. .. bi'- piece of work can be accomplished at the annual meeting of the fort forth to hi la so .Association in kincral Wells the early pa rt of June if the proper preesue is brought to bear. This association comprises that pant of the Trail west cf -KL Paso^,
