Your invitation to your reception to Mr,
Harral Ayres gives rae great pleasure. I would be delighted to attend, both on account of accepting your well-known hospitality, and to honor Mr. Ayres. I regret to inform you, however,, that a previous engagement will prevent me from accepting this invitation.
I have a hearing before the Industrial Accident Board at Austin, which is set for the same date.
I desire, however, to pay my respects to Mr. Ayres, and to say that he is eminently worthy of every tribute which may be given him in homor of his splendid accomplishments as Managing Director of the Old Spanish Trail.
I wish, also, to add a. word of praise for the splendid work you have undertaken and carried to success in connection with the beautification of the Old Spanish Trail.
I would like very much to be present at the reception to add my testimonial to those of many others, in recognition of the splendid achievements of both yourself and Mr. Ayres, and it is a source of deepest regret that I find myself unable to do so.
