MINUTES OP MEETING OP THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OP THE OLD SPANISH TRAIL HELD AT A LUNCHEON, ROOM 121, GUNTER HOTEL SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS, DECEMBER 11, 1923, at 12:15 P.M. Meeting was called to order by the Chairman. 2. Present: Messrs. Wiraer, Tyrrell, Walthall and Ayres. 3. Resignation of Henry T. Matthews as a director was submitted and accepted, and filed herewith. 4. After considerable discussion W. A. Williamson v/as elected as a member of the Board, and the Managing Director was ordered to submit a mailed vote to the Board of Directors to qualify him constitutionally as a director. Opinions expressed by all members were that Mr. Williamson would prove unusually serviceable in connection with this work. 5. Managing Director reported that the Auto Trades Assn, and the Real Estate Board had pledged 100$ support. Prank Orr and H.C.S. Smith were the Auto Trades committee of cooperation. The Real Estate Board committee, N. S. Dickinson, P. E. Gragg and R. W. Patton. The Lumbermen's Assn, has paid in 100$ thru Maury Maverick, the secretary. November 30th Kiwanis had given a full program to the Old Spanish Trail at which a complete exhibit was submitted and all members of the Executive Board spoke. Kiwanis adopted a resolution as follows, and appointed a committee of cooperation, H. C. Thorman, Isaac Bledsoe and Jack Burke. Moved: That KIWANIS commends the Old Spanish Trail administration as a civic work calling for the support of all Kiwanians. And that we appoint a committee of three to cooperate with the Old Spanish Trail organization to secure 100$ membership support, if possible from this Kiwanis Club, and to assist in other ways in developing the Old Spanish Trail from St. Augustine To San Diego. Also that the officers of this Club inform the other Kiwanis Clubs along the Old Spanish Trail of the cooperation we are giving to build up a strong Headquarters organization behind this movement. It was also reported the Lions would undoubtedly arrange a program and that Rotary was still inactive. Mr. Tyrrell and Mr. Walthall both agreed to see certain Rotarians in the matter. 6. Managing Director reported he was having the Executive Board names printed on the new N.H.A. maps and then v/ould distribute them to the San Antonio and other members. Mr. Tyrrell offered to frame and hang these maps in the rooms usually devoted to luncheon meetings.
