rB©SMm©M,ir@2sas Dec. 1, 1922o Kenneth Wimer, c/o V/imer-Richardson & Go., San Antonio, Texas. My dear Sir:- Beg to acknowledge receipt of yours of Nov. 29th, enclosing your Company's checks No. 17796 and No. 17795. I have delivered the check for £8.50 and endorsed it over to Burge's Garage, and receipted hill herewith attached. Since talking with you over the telephone, I attended the luncheon of the Kiawanis Club and as they were so "busy at this meeting our subject was put over until next Monday. Last Wednesday I attended the luncheon given by the Chamber of Commerce, of Orange, Texas as a guest of Mayor Lea, whom you know is one of our Vice Presidents. At this luncheon it was decided when the troubles of the Old Spanish Trail had been straightened out and they again had confidence in our Association, that we would get the full support of his county. A motion was made that he would write you, giving full particulars for not coming to our support at this time. At the present writing I have had no further interview with Mayor Logan of Port Arthur, but at the last meeting, I was assured that they would raise §>250.00. Liberty who is coming in with $100.00 and Dayton with $50.00 should have been received in San Antonio before this writing. The whole trouble of these -towns holding back is due to the fact that our troubles have been broad casted and they have lost confidence in the Association. Before the Committee took charge, I had instructions from Dr. Johnston and D. E. Colp to call our annual convention at Beaumont for December 15th and 16th, and now that this has benn postponed after my starting publicity and getting all neoessary arrangements in line, the people here believe more than ever that something seriously wrong has happened at San Antonio. I I I wired you today answering your letter regarding going East, and as it is useless working here in the dark, I am leaving for San Antonio Sunday morning to have a conference with the Eexcutive Committee and Mr. Ayers before doing anything fnrther. Just as soon as I arrive I shall take pleasure in getting in touch immediately. Yours very truly. DEC 2 1922
